GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT), a type of language model that uses deep learning to generate human-like, conversational text.
Who made ChatGPT?
ChatGPT was created by OpenAI, an AI and research company. The company launched ChatGPT on November 30, 2022
Who owns Chat GPT?
Chat GPT is owned and developed by AI research and deployment company, OpenAI. The organization is headquartered in San Francisco and was founded by some prominent players – including Elon Musk, Sam Altman, Peter Thiel, OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, Jessica Livingston, and Linkedin cofounder Reid Hoffman.
ChatGPT has two major phase
The first one
((The data gathering phase is called pre-training))
The second one
(( inference))
while the user responsiveness phase is called .
The magic behind generative AI and the reason it's suddenly exploded is that the way pre-training works has suddenly proven to be enormously scalable.

How many usere there?
ChatGPT attracted over 50 million users in a month, making it one of the fastest-growing consumer services in history. "While technological improvements have been advancing steadily for a few years now, OpenAI and the release of ChatGPT specifically made large language models widely available," said Donncha Carroll, a partner at Lotis Blue Consulting who leads the firm's data science center of excellence. "The real genius was providing a simple-to-use interface making the technology accessible to the average person."
Can ChatGPT be used for job application assistance?
Yes, ChatGPT is a great resource to help with job applications. Undertaking a job search can be tedious and difficult, and ChatGPT can help you lighten the load. ChatGPT can build your resume and write a cover letter, If your application has any written supplements in addition to your cover letter, you can use ChatGPT to help you write those essays or personal statements.
What is the field which ChatGPT involved in:
some of them are:
Write an essay
Create an app
Write code
Build your resume
Write Excel formulas
Summarize content
Write a cover letter
customer service
Customer service teams can use ChatGPT to automate tasks, generate responses to customer inquiries, summarize email threads and power human-like chatbots.
General knowaldge
ChatGPT: employs Reinforcement learning method
The conversational approach will let the new GPT option respond to more dynamic interactions and will make it more likely to respond than ask. As opposed to Chat GPT, which has been specifically trained for this purpose, GPT-3 was previously used by the end user to initiate interaction. It employs a method known as reinforcement learning from human learning.
Responds to everything
Chatbot that has been trained to engage in conversation. The dialogue model, according to OpenAI, enables ChatGPT to respond to all types of writing, including theoretical essays, mathematical solutions, and stories. It can also answer follow-up questions and the company says that it can also admit when it makes a mistake.A quantum physicist, science author, and researcher in computer programming, Michael Aaron Nielsen, tweeted –“ OpenAI’s new chatbot is amazing. It hallucinates some very interesting things. For instance, it told me about a (v interesting sounding!) book, which I then asked it about:Unfortunately, neither Amazon nor G Scholar nor G Books thinks the book is real. Perhaps it should be!”
GPT-4?
GPT-4 is the newest version of OpenAI's language model systems. Its previous version, GPT 3.5, powered the company's wildly popular ChatGPT chatbot when it launched in November of 2022.
What can GPT-4 do?
Since GPT-4 is a large multimodal model (emphasis on multimodal), it is able to accept both text and image inputs and output human-like text.
For example
with GPT-4, you could upload a worksheet and it will be able to scan it and output responses to the questions. It could also read a graph you upload and make calculations based on the data presented.
Where can I access GPT-4?
OpenAI has yet to make GPT-4's visual input capabilities available through any platform because the research company is collaborating with a single partner to start. However, there are ways to access GPT-4's text input capability.
The onl way to access the text-input capability through OpenAI is with a subscription to ChatGPT Plus, which guarantees subscribers access to the language model at the price of $20 a month. However, even through this subscription, there will be a user cap which means you may not be able to access it whenever you'd like, something to consider before making the investment.
There is a free way to access GPT-4's text capability and it's by using Bing Chat.
Also: Still waiting for Bing Chat access? Make sure you do these 4 things
The day that GPT-4 was unveiled by OpenAI, Microsoft shared that its own chatbot, Bing Chat, had been running on GPT-4 since its launch five weeks ago. Bing Chat is free to use but does require signing up via a waitlist.
How to use ChatGPT
Create an OpenAI account
Go to chat.OpenAi.com and register for an account with an email address, or a Google or Microsoft account. You need to create an account on the OpenAI website to log in and access ChatGPT. If you've never created an account before, click on Sign up and follow the prompts to enter your information. OpenAI does require a valid phone number for verification to create an account.
Get familiar with the ChatGPT window
Once you've logged into your OpenAI account on the ChatGPT side of the website, it's time to get to know the AI tool's window. Here's a breakdown of what you will see
New chat button: On the left-hand side of your screen, you'll see a button for New chat that you can click on to start a new conversation at any time. This is useful because the ChatGPT model remembers what was previously discussed in a conversation and will respond with context, so starting a new chat will clear a new conversation without prejudice.
Chat history: The left sidebar also keeps all your previous conversations accessible, in case you need to go back to one, though there is the option of turning off chat history.
Upgrade to Plus: ChatGPT Plus is a paid subscription that gives members access to the GPT-4 model, a faster and larger language model from OpenAI. You can choose to upgrade to Plus or stay with the free version.
Account: Clicking on your e-mail address or name on the bottom left of your screen will give you access to your account information, including settings, the option to log out, and help and FAQ from OpenAI.
Your prompts: The questions or prompts you give the AI chatbot appear here.
ChatGPT's responses: Whenever ChatGPT responds to your queries, the logo will appear on the left.
Copy, Thumbs up, Thumbs down: Each time ChatGPT replies, you can copy the text to your clipboard to paste elsewhere and also provide feedback on whether the response was accurate or not, this process helps fine tune the AI tool
Regenerate response: If you had issues getting a response in the chat or didn't get a satisfactory answer, you can click on Regenerate response to prompt ChatGPT to try again with the latest answer.
Text area: This is where you enter your prompts and questions, just hit enter to send them.
ChatGPT version: OpenAI included a bit of fine print below the text input area, where you can read the disclaimer that this is a "Free Research Preview. ChatGPT may produce inaccurate information about people, places, or facts". There is also the version of the ChatGPT model* you're currently using.
*This screenshot shows a typo from OpenAI, 'Mar 3 Version' should be 'May 3 Version'
